| All programs in Windows systems have machine instructions. When you run an executable application, the Windows operating system checks if it is a valid program, then loads it and tells processor to execute it.Not all files are programs, obviously. In order to differentiate if a particular file is executable or not, Windows stores all programs in file format (Portable Executable). When loading a program, operating system will perform some checks on program to see if it is indeed a program. When it says it is not a win32 application, it is because, when trying to load the program file as executable (in your case sims - hot date), some checks for Portable Executable file format conformance has failed. The Operating Sysem hence thinks it is not a PE, hence not a program. If you are sure that the file you have is a valid program, then the problem is probably caused by file corruption. Try replacing the file from the source again. |
