Have you ever lost your blog ? if not than you are lucky enough because you don't know when blooger gone mad and wipe your blog, some time during writing the post and in middle when you try to save it ,it vanish and some time when you attempt to publsih , your post gone somewhere and you can just want to hit your head to wall.But don't worry there are ways to save your blog, not only on blogger ,but also on wordpress, Moveable Type and typepad.i am reading about these thing in net and here is the summary
Offline Browser Utilities
Offline browser utility is a very good way to copy your whole blog on your computer hard disk.There are some good utilities you can use for this, for Windows HTTrack http://www.httrack.com/ is good , for mac users WEB Grabber http://www.epicware.com/webgrabber.html is recommended.
Blogger it Self
There is no direct and easy way to backup your entire blog from dashboard, but there is help available in blogger itself which is little bit complicated, which you can use to do this , below is the link

The Way Back Machine
Let crawl your blog by Way Back Machine.Just simply go on this site http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#1 and submit your blog address.You should check the availability of storage.
E-mail your posts to yourself
You can e-mail your posts to your self.Digital Inspiration http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/11/methods-to-backup-your-weblog.html tells different ways to backup your blog , among which there are instructions that how to configure your blog settings , so your blogger automatically E-mail you , your own posts.
W.Blogger
If you want to write your psot offline than use W.Blogger http://www.wbloggar.com/ , its a freeware tool ,its an handy tool, so next tiem when you use it you dont ahve to fear of losing your post during posting and publishing, its better to use this instead of wordpad.

i put my blog in two places. Blogger and multiply.
and its auto synchronize.
every time i post a new blog to blogger, multiply will grab it and put it in my multiply page.
another tricky way to save your blog.
