we all want to promote our sites and we all already knows about the tips and tricks, but the problem is this that most of us are lazy enough to actually try these .Below i am revising all tricks and tips again so anyone really want to promote his or her site than he can use it.
1 - Submit website to lists/directories including open directory.Use Directory submission senseably other wise search engines consider this as spamming , submit in not more than 5 directories daily
2 - Tell everyone with whom you communicate
3 - Set up a banner campain, advertise your website via banner networks
4 - Aha! Blogging is also a good way of prmoting your site.
5 - Get a great idea for your site
6 - Forum signatures play a huge rule
7 - submit your link on your myspace - facebook - orkut page.
8 - use social bookmarking
9 - Reciprocal Links also works
10 - Try to get your link on Wikipedia and other Wikis
11 - frequently post in google groups and yahoo answers
12 - use free advertising website and post your site adds
13 - Try to use co-op networks such as linkvault or receivelinks
14 - Article submission is good
15 - Submit to the search engines
16 - Use discussion forums (including Xital) to promote your website
17 - Forum Posting is a very good way of getting some traffic.
18 - Email to VIPs and if you are lucky enough that this VIP mention your site in his or her article, than your site will shoot.
19 - Create a widget
20 - Post newsgroups
21 - Write comments in popular Blogs.
22 - Investigate your competitors.
23 - Think of ways to get the attention when the website is launced.
24 - Start thinking about a website layout, navigation, topics and more content related (rich content offcourse)
25 - always Include your link in your personl E-mail
26 - Create a blog and post about your findings/progressions with your website.
27 - add an xml sitemap to your site
28 - Keep updating and promoting your website.
29 - Create a 'hook' for your website, something that people will return for at your website.
30 - Have a content rich website
31 - Create an adwords/overture account and get traffic through ppc.
32 - When you hit the sandbox thing, just keep on working updating your website.
33 - And again, create more fresh and new content.
34 - Write a businessplan to support your idea
35 - Let your friends and relatives know about your new website through emailing and ask them to inform more people who might be interested about the new site.
36 - Success! Your site is now fairly popular and getting you the occasional sale/adclick. Keep it up. You can probably slow down on the link development, as you're probably receiving link requests from other websites by now.
37 - Use Press releases
38 - Use a rss/atom feeds in your website and submit it to http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home and other rss resources
38 - Do keyword research onto a specific topic.
39 - Register a domain that matches a keyword phrase from the above research performed (i.e. widgetsforsale.com).
40 - Select a design for your website (tip, look at competitors for idea's)
41 - Setup a good sized ping list (I have 50 in my blogs).
42 - Once you have about 20-30 posts, spend a day doing directory submissions. The reason for waiting is that some directories won't accept sites that appear to be under construction.
43 - While waiting for the directories, continue posting 3 times/week.
44 - By now you should be having a casual steam of visitors into the blog. Now it's time to fix the default design, put in a niche template that works well with your content.
45 - Put in adsense or affiliate program support into your blog so you can slowly generate revenue from it.
46 - POST POST POST! By this point the search engines will probably be probing your site, up your posting rate to 5 times/week.
47 - Give positive feedback to software, product or site you used when building your new website, they will love to link back to a good quality site.
48 - Google Update! Google comes by and gives you some PR. Wohoo! No do a major link exchange campaign for 2-3 days solid. Do nothing but look for links.
49 - You should be touching your site on a daily basis. Every 2nd day make a post. Every other day spend 30 mins looking for links and directories and other places to promote your blog. Even if you only find 1 link in that 30 mins, you are being productive.
50 - You should have a good stream of people coming back to your site now. Setup various syndication feeds on it (i.e. Yahoo, etc) to go in addition to the RSS feed that wordpress offers.
51 - "Pass-Around" Strategy.Create something of value that people will pass around.
52 - Get relevant links and build links using various keyword phrases for your market.
53 - Set up an affiliate program where you pay people a percentage of each sale for referring customers to you.
54 - Traffic Exchanges are also veryuseful.
